In traditional Islamic medicine, two main types of qust (costume) are known: Qust al-Hindi (Indian costum, dark brown to black) and Qust al-Bahri (sea costum, lighter to whitish). Both come from the root of the Saussurea plant, but differ in origin, flavor, intensity, and application.
